The Chagrin Falls Fire Department is actually comprised of two separate organizations. All personnel are members of both.

The Chagrin Falls Village Fire Department was formed in 1897, and is paid per call for fires within the Village of Chagrin Falls. The department is funded through the general fund of the Village of Chagrin Falls, and has a paid part-time Chief, who is appointed by the Mayor.

The Chagrin Falls Suburban Volunteer Fireman's Association, Inc., the suburban department, is a non-profit corporation that provides fire and emergency medical services for Chagrin Falls Township, Moreland Hills, Hunting Valley, South Russell, and Bentleyville.

An EMS contract is also maintained with the Village of Chagrin Falls. The Fire Chief normally serves as chief of this department also.

The department covers a 32 square mile response area, serving a population of approximately 15,000 residents. The station is located in the Village of Chagrin Falls. Apparatus consists of two pumpers, a 75 ft. ladder truck, a heavy rescue, 3 ALS equipped EMS squads, a command/fire prevention vehicle, and two multi-purpose utility vehicles.  The department also has two mountian bikes for a  bike patrol unit to provide EMS for special events.

Four personnel staff the station 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Chief and a fire inspector work M-F on 8 hour shifts bringing staffing to 6 during those hours. The department currently has 4 full-time personnel and other members on duty at the station work 12 hour shifts on a part-time basis.

11 officers along with 32 firefighters make up the department. 27 of our members are Paramedics and 17 are Emergency Medical Technicians.

In 2008 the department responded to 1281 fire and EMS runs.

The station is located directly next to the Chagrin Falls Village Hall, our main entrance is located on Walnut St.
