Internet Crimes are occurring more and more everyday. They include such crimes as:
Various theft offenses, including identity theft and financial crimes Frauds, such as E-bay and lottery scams Sexual exploitation of children
Child pornography- possession, manufacturing, and trading Cyber bullying
Sgt. Andy Capwill of the Chagrin Falls Police Department is an investigator working with the Northeast Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC). ICAC is a federally funded collaboration of city, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies across Ohio, whose mission is to identify, arrest and prosecute individuals who: use the Internet to lure minors into illicit sexual relationships; or use the Internet to produce, distribute or solicit child pornography.
The Ohio ICAC is headed by Cuyahoga County Prosecutor, Mr. Bill Mason.
Some of Sgt. Capwill’s responsibilities include investigating Internet Crimes, as well as presenting Internet Safety Presentations to groups of all ages.
