The meeting convened in the Village Hall kitchen at 8:35 A.M.

July minutes – approved

TRIANGLE PARK

• Connie DeGood and John Brockway have procured an appropriate flat sandstone boulder on which to place a bronze plaque which will read: CHAGRIN FALLS TRIANGLE PARK COMMERCIAL DISTRICT IS LISTED ON THE NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES BY THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR. Sheffield Monuments has quoted a price of $1,250.00 which includes the plaque, labor, and installation. This project has been approved by Council. Jeff Snedeker will ask Ben Himes about the funding and let the Commission know where it stands. Mrs. DeGood would like to plant at least five shrubs around the installed stone using Beautification funds.
RIVERSIDE PARK
• Entrance – Pruned forsythia is alive with new growth and the area around them has been weeded again. Poison ivy needs to be sprayed and mulch should be spread to prevent new weed growth. Still need two new shrubs to replace former ilex. There is a water leak in the irrigation system that cannot be reached because it is under the sidewalk. Therefore, the valve has been turned off and hand watering is required for everything growing in the river side of the entrance.
• Broken strings of Christmas lights dangle from the large sycamore next to the river and need to be cut back as much as can possibly be reached.
• Weeds along the north bank of the river should be sprayed with Roundup so that some Beautification members can plant wildflower seeds this fall. Rudbekia and lilies are currently growing just next to the wire fence.
• Two diseased pine trees in the middle of the park have been cut down by the Service Dept. Other diseased pines at the northeast end of the park have been taped off and will also be removed.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:55 A.M.
