CHAGRIN FALLS CITIZENS POLICE ACADEMY

Tuesdays September 8 – November 10, 2009

6:30 P.M. – 9:00 P.M.

WHAT IS IT?
The Chagrin Falls Police Department will be hosting our third Citizens Police Academy to provide interested persons an inside look at law enforcement. This Academy is a 20 hour block of instruction, taught by police department personnel and designed to provide the public with a working knowledge of the police department’s personnel, policies and procedures. The Academy meets 2 ½ hours a week for 10 weeks on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.

WHO MAY ATTEND?
This class is made up of a cross-section of citizens who have a connection to the community. Anyone 21 years of age and over may enroll, the only requirement is that applicants must live or work in Chagrin Falls. Background checks will be completed on all applicants.

THE PURPOSE:
This Academy was created to provide the public with information to assist them in making informed judgments about local law enforcement. The goal of the Academy, through the education process, is to increase public awareness and create strong partnerships between law enforcement and the community. Each academy graduate will gain a deeper knowledge of how the criminal justice system fits into their community. The Police Department will become more aware of the feelings and concerns citizens within their community may have
